Our Band!

The history of Welbeck Estates Brass Band.

The band was formed in 1979 when Mr. Neil Elliott the Land Agent of The Welbeck Estates Co. Ltd and Mr. William Hawkins, the caretaker both wanted something different on the Estate for the workers and their families.

Lady Anne Bentinck became the President and very kindly allowed the use of her coat of arms as the badge for the Band Jackets. Here is a link to a more in-depth history of the band  History of the band on IBEW

Beginners band started!! 

Since we have had alot of new members join the band who have had a little or no experience the band has started a beginners/training group on a Wednesday before the main band begins. This will be held in the band room, unit 3 Elephant hut, Welbeck, S80 3LR. 
Anyone wishing to join this group, please feel free to get in touch for more information.

Our Aim

The aims of the band are to educate anyone wanting to learn an instrument, giving opportunities within the local communities including schools and colleges and providing opportunities for those who wish to listen/hear the kind of music played by Brass Bands.

We are currently seeking the help of established musicians to come along once a week to help support our younger members. We have instruments if needed.

We are located between Mansfield and Worksop, Nottinghamshire. We rehearse Wednesdays from 7:15 till 9 at unit 3 Elephant hut, Welbeck, S80 3LR.
